Did Lt. Governor Roberts purposely bury the findings of this Brief in 2011, when consideration for an ACA exchange in RI was being actively discussed?
Were Governor Chafee, Health and Human Services Director Steven Constantino, and Insurance Commissioner Hitner made aware of the findings in this Brief three years ago? Or were they this apathetic to what they were imposing upon the people of Rhode Island?
Now that they know HealthSourceRI is not financially viable, and knowing that HealthSourceRI cannot meet its stated primary goal of cost containment, why do officials continue to argue for such a massive bureaucracy and financial drain on Rhode Island families? Is it:
- To perpetuate their own high-paying jobs?
- For strictly ideological reasons?
- Out of blind loyalty to the Obama administration?
If you are a small business in Rhode Island or even just a parent working hard to make ends meet for your family, you already know from your own experience that what was forced upon every Rhode Island citizen by some supposedly benevolent members of our state's political class was NOT "affordable care."
This damming report clearly shows that the present political leadership in Rhode Island is, at best, incompetent, and at worst, more concerned about imposing their agenda upon us and our children rather than doing what is right for our State.
Without your help, the failures in the State House will YET AGAIN not be held responsible, and we will be left to pay the bill.
We cannot let this happen.
