PRESS RELEASE: Rationing Health Care, Price Fixing, "Population Plans" & Other Soviet-Style Control in RI
July 24, 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Rhode Island Tea Party PAC releases video exposing RI House Finance Committee Bill 7819 as the most dangerous piece of legislation this year.
Providence, RI - The Rhode Island Tea Party this weekend released video exposing the Rhode Island House Finance Committee attempts to create a government enforced monopoly on health care in RI. Michael Puyana, Rhode Island Tea Party president states, "As with any monopoly, such legislation would stifle innovation, decrease the availability of care, and create immense waste."
Mr. Puyana goes on to say, "The people of Rhode Island must be given an opportunity to see what the General Assembly has in store for their health care, therefore it is our duty to release this video."
The video includes testimony from Mike Stenhouse, CEO of the Center for Freedom and Prosperity, in which he illustrates that Bill 7819 would:
Lead to the rationing of health care in Rhode Island.
Wedge the government and politicians between personal health care decisions.
"State population health improvement plans" would open up the door to all political entities in Rhode Island creating demands over people's nutrition, activity, and lifestyle choices.
Delegate such important and personal decision to unelected bureaucrats.
